• Most patients are discharged the same day or the following morning
• Most patients return to work within two weeks
• Little to no risk of post-operative pneumonia or abdominal wall hernias
• Minimal scar tissue formation
• In experienced hands, laparoscopic surgery is safer and faster than
  open surgery
